As a result, clients benefit from consistent, objective decision‑support, whether dealing with assets operating on land or at sea.
YACHT SURVEYS
Vessel Assessments
YACHT SURVEYS
A professional survey carried out by an experienced, independent yacht surveyor provides a clear and well‑founded understanding of a yacht’s condition.
Our services include:
- Comprehensive pre‑purchase surveys to evaluate condition and support value assessment
- Damage inspections following incidents, with clear documentation of required repairs
- Independent counter surveys, offering a reliable second opinion
- A range of additional specialised survey services, tailored to client needs
In addition, our transport surveys ensure that yachts are properly prepared for safe delivery or shipment, reducing the risk of damage during transit.
Cargo Surveys
Quality & Quantity assessments
Cargo Surveys
INS provides independent cargo survey services to support the safe movement of goods by sea and land. Our scope includes assessments of bulk, general, dry and containerised cargo, as well as liquid shipments, including chemicals and petroleum products.
Where high‑value or complex items—such as yachts, wind turbines, transformers, or engines—are carried as cargo, enhanced attention is given to stowage arrangements, lashing methods, and protective measures throughout the transport chain.
Our involvement may cover the verification of quantities at loading, review of cargo condition and securing, and attendance during transit when incidents or suspected damage arise. Upon arrival, we monitor discharge operations, checking for shortages, contamination, or deterioration.
Quality surveys confirm that cargo complies with contractual specifications, while quantity surveys provide independent confirmation of weights and volumes at loading or discharge. These findings often serve as key evidence in commercial or contractual disputes.
As ownership, risk, and responsibility frequently change hands during transport, independent surveys at these transition points offer valuable preventive control and risk mitigation.
